Led Bicycle flashlight, described in the article [1], I was immediately interested. Since my factory light and a generator to it only worked on large speeds, it was decided to improve their performance. I wanted to repeat, however, at hand was not the chip that was offered the author, but I did have another DC/DC Converter type LT1615 company Linear Technology [2].

Gathering scheme, started her test. It turned out that this chip gave the opportunity to get that, even at low speeds the bike the road lighting was high. The input voltage from Wellenreiter entered chip, the output of which is fed three SuperBright white LEDs type L-53PWC Kingbright company connected in series. The voltage drop across the LEDs in the nominal range of currents (15...30 mA) is about 3.1 V. It is possible to connect to them (although not necessarily) in series resistance around 2-4 Ohms.

As the inductance used the throttle to 4.7 µh and a high-speed diode Schottky type MBR0540.

The design of the emitter was the most important. That does not alter the lantern (in if necessary, return it to its previous state, i.e., the insert could ordinary light bulb), to the base of the normal bulbs were LEDs and probabalise was filled with epoxy. Such design of the emitter was hard and practical.
