Trying to repeat the design of the power supply Chizhevsky [1], I could not find a suitable basis for producing high-voltage transformer. Out helped unneeded deflecting system worn on the TV, or rather, the ferrite magnetic core of her.

As it turned out, in case suitable magnetic deflection system of different TVs, including imported ones. The best results were obtained with the magnetic core having the larger outer diameter of 78 mm and a smaller outside - 50 mm. First, both parts of the magnetic circuit are glued tight, no gap, superglue or epoxy glue. Excess adhesive, speaking of gap, it is better not to remove. Then, the resulting ferrite ring is wrapped with an insulating tape made of PTFE or of varnished cloth.

Further, the primary winding is wound with 30 turns of PEV-2 in diameter of 0.51-0.8 mm. Coils are placed evenly around the entire circumference of the magnetic circuit. Outside the primary winding is covered with several layers of insulating tape. The secondary winding- 1 500 - 2000 turns of wire PELSHO of 0.1 - wound coil to a coil on the inner side of the magnetic circuit. Each layer of the winding is covered with several layers of thin Teflon tape, making sure that the turns of wire of each of the upper layer were separated windings tape off the underlying. The connection of the wire in case of breakage definitely probailout and isolated short segments of insulating tape. The outside of the finished transformer cover pure molten paraffin and wrapped with several layers of insulating tape. View the finished product shown in figure.

The number of turns is chosen empirically.

Manufactured according to the method described above transformers are reliable, tested by long-term operation and provide the output trehzhopovogo multiplier voltage of about 30 kV. High output voltage was measured kilovolt meter, assembled according to the scheme described in [2]. When a certain caution voltage can be estimated by the length of the punched out by a spark gap from 1 mm to 1 kV. Length steadily pushing the gap should be approximately 25 mm. If the voltage is insufficient, will have a multiplier to add another step.
