This trap works for mosquitoes by attracting insects with carbon dioxide the gas released during the fermentation of Baker's yeast. Mosquitoes, flying towards the smell carbon dioxide is trapped and cannot get out.

For what would the Baker's yeast started to wander and to release carbon dioxide, you will need warm water and sugar, preferably cane (brown).

The main components for the manufacture of mosquito traps following:

  • Two-liter plastic bottle;
  • Warm water (200 ml.) with a maximum temperature of 40° C (for higher temperature the fermentation stops, and at a temperature more than 50°, the yeast dies);
  • Granulated sugar (50 ml.);
  • Baker's yeast, one gram (one packet or a quarter of a tablespoon);
  • Black opaque paper or fabric, or aluminum foil.

The plastic bottle should be cut off the neck so that collar is inserted into the bottle poured in water, half a centimeter or centimeter not reached the level of the water:

In the bottle, pour 200 ml of warm water, pour in the water and stir 50 ml. of sugar, and pour into a solution of the contents of the sachet Baker's yeast (quarter dining room spoons).

Next, insert the neck into the bottle as a funnel:

The bottle should be wrapped with an opaque paper, as the darkness draws mosquitoes.

When yeast fermentation sugar is converted into alcohol and carbon dioxide, which flock of mosquitoes, and also generates heat, which the same will attract insects. If fermentation of yeast will be allocated to the foam, it should be regularly remove, that she would not cut off the neck and hinder the mosquitoes getting into the trap.

A solution of water with yeast in the bottle should be changed once a week.

The advantage of this trap compared to electrical and mechanical traps for mosquitoes - the complete lack of noise, lack - fermentation yeast is a very specific smell.
