This scheme is not my own creation. I first saw her in the magazine "Radio" [1]. I think it will be of interest to many hams in its simplicity.

The device allows you to adjust the power of the soldering iron from half-time to the maximum. Under these scheme elements, the load capacity should not exceed 50 watts, but within the hour the scheme and can withstand a load of 100 watts without any consequences.

Diagram of the regulator shown in the figure. If the thyristor VD2 replace CU, and diode VD1 - CDV, the power of the connected load can be significantly increased. This saves one network socket, which, as we know, is never enough.

This controller works for me for 14 years without any complaints.
